Dear all,
To make this event firmly printed in all of our mind for many years we call to you all to pack your digital cameras or video cameras in those extra gucci pouches you may have and do not be afraid to USE it!
There will be a gallery for the quality material that you guys produce so make sure after the event you send it to the TA2 dedicated email address : photos@townassault.comAlthough there were many great photos from the first event, with the scale of this one it would be great to capture as much of this as we can.
So again,
PACK YOUR CAMERA!!!Best wishes

ive just got myself a wireless camera unit
ive emailed ian, but i think things have been a bit slow on his end since his holiday.
what i want to know is, is there any computers capable of burning a dvd at any of the safe zones.
if so, would it be possible to download footage from the camera unit to the pc. This way they can have a copy of all footage from in game and i can take a copy home myself.
(the camera unit isnt wirelss in the sense it transmits to a video camera, but wireless in the sense it is a self contained unit using SD mem cards).

Was hoping to get a new camera ordered in time for TA2! But haven't had a chance. I'll be bringing my current camera though.

thebauer - I doubt any of the staff will have a laptop with those functions, however if you bring your own or your team mate has one, perhaps that could be away around it?
Of course, please copy any footage you get and send it in by post please

- as for a competition, that is something Ian will have to think about, however by having all the images hosted on the site is a pretty good motivation to take them

One of our guys is a proffessional photographer, so no doubt he'll be doing some snaps.
Got one digicam in the team and then my mobile with 1.3 megapixel camera for close up shots

I'll be bringing my D-SLR which is too big (and expensive if broken, it's worth more than my car) for using while playing - would it be possible to put an HV on and go out with marshals taking photos?

I am sure that will not be a problem, however I would seek clarification with either Dave or Ian on the weekend itself.

I will have my helmetcam (4:3 colour bullet cam) mounted during the event. I will be filming also without helmetcam so expect some nice 16:9 hi-res digital video clips.
Im packing about 9 hours of battery life without need to recharge and about 10 hours of tape

+ digital photo camera with 1 gig CF card
Any chance of downloadin my 1gig card in HQ if i runout of space?

10 hours of digital tape takes about 150gigabytes
Anyone willing to open up the mailbox quota just a bit

cheers,
Deki

I'll bring along my 6.3 Mega Pixel Fuji (nice little camera, pretty decent price too) and get some snaps.
Hopefully my photographic role will consist of more than lying on the ground with my back to the camera! (see TA1 archieve photo thread)

Looks like TA2 is going to be well documented!
Guys, when packing all that photo gear, just don't forget to bring your guns! Or artistic shots will be the only shooting you do next weekend!

And remember, use your flash at every opportunity day or night, even when your subject is 50+ metres away...just like all those numpties at rock concerts/football matches etc...
Perhaps there should be a 'War correspondent' role along with all the others we have.
Actually, that would be pretty cool. Running around with a small video camera for a half hour or so at different points in the play, interviewing the commanders and the troops, asking their views on how the battle's going, following up on air/artillery strikes, maybe a bit of footage of the SF actions, that sort of thing. Would make for some good footage I reckon.
It
would be in keeping with the authenticity we're trying to achieve...
so who wants to play Kate Adie?

If theres enough people needing upload space I could bring my laptop down, Internal CDR, 300gb external drive (with socket) and I may be able to borrow a DVD/R
Though it may cost people......
If there are powerout lets i have an external dvd-r i may be able to bring.

Im bringing a few Tesco disposable cameras. 59p or somthing similar each.

Honestly you won't believe the results that can be achieved with them. Just can't share with every one else.
Have to say the war correspondant idea sounds good or fun or realistic. Well all three. Just a wee bit late me thinks to write it into the game. Oh well hopefully there is always next year.

We will not be providing a laptop for downloading at the event. Although there will be enough sockets for anyone that does want to bring a laptop.
BTW. I have no issues with the odd person trading their gun for a camera every now and again to take some quality phtographs.
I like the idea of a prize winning photograph and I am sure we can come up with a prize.

If you get your films developed at ASDA they can put the pictures on a CD for you. That's what I did with the photos from the Fireball trip to the French National Game.
